NHS Health Checks

Receive your Free NHS Health Check.

These checks are being offered to patients aged between 40 and 74 once every five years.  The check is to assess your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes. If there are warning signs, then together we can do something about it.  By taking early action, you can improve your health and prevent the onset of these conditions and there is good evidence to support this.

The check should take about 20-30 minutes.  You will be asked some simple questions, for example, about your family history.  We’ll record your height, weight, age, sex and ethnicity.  We’ll check your blood pressure and cholesterol.  During the check you may receive appropriate personalised lifestyle information about staying healthy.
