When can counselling help?
Therapeutic Counselling facilitates personal growth, promoting self-knowledge and emotional development.
Each of us, has encountered a crisis, problem, trauma or situation, which has caused us to feel troubled, anxious or confused. Perhaps we have suffered a loss or feel alone or perhaps the stress of a situation has overcome us and it is hard to identify a way forward. Perhaps a family or relationship issue is too big to bear. Indeed, you may not have a clear problem, you may simply lack direction, motivation or meaning. For some it may be a feeling of dissatisfaction or confusion and part of a search for something more in life. You may experience difficulty in making satisfactory connections with others; or you may feel isolated with your own problems.
This is when Counselling may help you focus on the complex issues that concern you and enable you to gain deeper understanding and discover your true potential.
Counselling is a means of self-help, a personal journey, which aims to provide you with an opportunity to develop a true insight into who you are as an individual and enable you to find a more satisfying, resourceful and healthier way of living. Through self-exploration you could learn to recognise patterns and beliefs that have influenced your behaviour in the past and this awareness may help you ensure that you adopt more appropriate coping strategies in the future.
